Almost there!

Seriously, every woman deserves a party-especially pregnant ones, AND any hard-working-mother-raising-kids really deserves a party! You have to agree...mommies work hard!

Today is the day-I hope and pray all goes well! Above is a magnet my mom gave me- you can get one here if you like. There are all different kinds-very cute and affordable!
Of course, everyone enjoys a good pregnant belly photo right? Don't you like mine? This is what I see when I look down. Seriously, I AM HUGE! And I don't have that cute-basketball-under-your-shirt-look either!

So if I want to see my feet, I just stick out my rear really far behind me, and then I see this- look I can actually see my feet--- oh--and my huge preggy stomach-even with my rear sticking out way behind me so I'm not standing up straight at all--cute! In case there are any doubts-- I really do love being pregnant and am very grateful for this blessing - extra weight, swollen feet, and all! The end result is well worth it! Speaking of results--the baby-Results--you know the stats- will be posted soon!! Thanksfor all the wonderful blog-love! Wish me luck and say a prayer-- because here we go!

While I Wait for Baby...

In case you are wondering... I don't sleep. I need to sleep. But I have not been able to sleep much lately at all.....so .... While I wait, instead of resting, I did a few more projects using stuff I have here at home. Above, wipes clutch tutorial, from Homemade by Jill. If you use her tutorial, you need a Huggies brand wipes clutch. I had to make a burp cloth to match...☻

And I made some more onesies and burp cloths. These are just a few.....(Debbie Mum flannel from JoAnn's)... I could make these all day- easy -easy-quick-quick- and the possiblities are endless! ☻
AND.. I have the stuff to make this quilt. I've had it for a few months....it is for baby....but he will just have to wait until later..... because it probably isn't gonna happen in the next few days...☻

Overwhelmed by Kindness and Love ☻

The past few weeks I have had a doctor appointment almost everyday (4 out of 5 days a week!) C-R-A-Z-Y! And several friends have come to my rescue! I can't express how wonderful these people have made me feel - they are fabulous!

Here are a few things some friends did:

*BABYSITTING my kids while I had to go to doctor appointments... and then cleaning while babysitting!

*A few ladies showed up at my door with their cleaning supplies in hand. ONE of these ladies did this on her BIRTHDAY! Yes, she was in big trouble when I found out she came over and cleaned my bathroom on her birthday!

*Another lady showed up at my home and painted my toenails-gave me a pedicure!

*To top it off, another friend came by with the plethora of diapers and wipes! She had contacted several generous ladies from my church (ward) and they all donated on my behalf.

THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Words cannot express how all this has made us feel ☻ We are more than grateful for all these wonderful people who have shown such love and support towards our little family! Thank you thank you! I am inspired to share the love and pass it on to others because of you ♥ ♥ ♥

Little Boy's Patriotic T-Shirt

This was a fun t-shirt to make, and I had to make it for my little guy before the baby comes. Instead of a FLAG shirt, we used some patriotic fabric we had on hand, and bought a t-shirt at Wal-mart for about $3. He loves semi-trucks and Mac-trucks, so we made a truck using very simple shapes. After -pre-washing the t-shirt (very important to do when doing applique) Using some iron-on pellon, we attached the shapes to make the truck, and then I just stitched around it. (my sewing isn't perfect-but oh well.) The fabric will probably fray a little when washed but that is o.k. with me. Older kids could make their own design for a t-shirt. I have plans to make some more of these- an airplane, a train, etc. Maybe we'll make one for each holiday this year! If you try this, watch out, applique can be addicting! :)

Happy Father's Day!

This is a sweet clip from one of the best T.V. shows, I LOVE LUCY. It is a little long, but very sweet and somehow captures the joy of becoming parents and especially for the men--becoming a dad/daddy/father! Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! We are having a baby anyday here-- a third son for Daddy -for Father's Day= this year :)

Just A Little Longer...

I loved this! My friend Abby at A Feathered Nest shared this from this etsy shop, and I just had to post it too!

I just have to say- "I'm so crafty I make people....and just like my crafts-- my people just take longer to make..... !" HA HA! We had an amniocentesis at the hospital today with plans to have the baby tomorrow. BUT....despite BIG HUNK's size, his lungs are not fully developed yet. So therefore, we will have to wait on him for another several days. SO...in the meantime, while this little person is taking longer to make, I think I'll find some crafty thing to make myself- a "craft distraction".... And hopefully the time will just fly by and we will welcome him here soon!

Onesies, Burp Cloths, & Linky Love

Babies must have onesies and burp cloths right? With my last baby I was into making these burp cloths here. While I loved them, I always ended up using the cloth diapers instead. So then the "embellished cloth diaper burp cloth" thingy got really big- so I did some of that. Well now the "appliqued onesie" thingy is really big too- and I think it is super cute. So I tried doing a little bit of it. Last thing I remember appliqueing was a pillow I made in the 7th grade...yeah I know...applique has been back for a while now. So easy- I think I'll do it more often!

I used some IKEA fabric here and just cut out the bird, used iron on pellon, zig-zagged around it, and for the burp rag just sewed a strip of the fabric down the middle of a cloth diaper for a burp rag.

This was some construction fabric I had and I just cut out some of the signs for the onesie.

Tutorials on "how to" do this stuff are just everywhere!!
Here are just a few tutorials for onesies and burp cloths:
Designing Moms Applique Onesies Very cute- make your own applique
Angry Chicken- quick gifts for the small- onesies Using printed fabric- how I did it :)
Chick Pea Studio Burp Cloths this is so easy- how I like it :)

Homemade Fortified Fudgesicles

So the baby is coming in a few days, and I have 5, 683 things to do before then. Is it O.K. to have a baby, when the house is messy, the fridge needs to be cleaned, and there are still piles of laundry to do? ☻That is the status of things around here....

BUT... I have time (all of 10 minutes) to make Homemade Fudgesicles-- chocolate = happiness! HA!

Last month we tried making these a few different ways and I think we finally came up with something yummy. Since I have become "addicted" to fudgesicles, during the pregnancy, I wanted to make some with higher protein-fortified-you know, the kind that are good for the baby and good for you ☻

So here is the recipe we came up with- that has protein, and smooth creamy chocolate!

HOMEMADE FORTIFIED FUDGESICLES

1 1/2 cups cottage cheese (fat free)

1/2 cup vanilla soy milk

1/2 cup fat free sweetened condensed milk

BLEND these in the blender until the consistency is very smooth.

THEN ADD:

1 small box fat free sugar free chocolate pudding (4 serving size)

BLEND again until really smooth and creamy. Taste for sweetness. (you can always add more sweetened condensed milk or a little sugar if needed. I also added about 1/2 a scoop chocolate protein powder to up the protein.)

POUR into Popsicle molds or silicone muffin cups. Put into freezer until frozen. If you use the muffin cups, wait about 25 min. after putting in freezer to add Popsicle sticks. When frozen, take out and enjoy. These should pop right out of the muffin tins and they somehow stayed securely on the sticks too. ☻

Let's Play a Guessing Game :)

Next week we are having a boy- a BIG boy. I think he is going to come out walking and with teeth. Because of all the complications with the baby, we know the day, and that he is big. However, let's have a little guessing game for this big guy. There will be a PRIZE for the winner- no guarantees what it will be-maybe a BIG HUNK or a gift certificate to the BIG AND TALL MEN'S STORE- (ok just kidding) but it will be a BIG fun prize! :)
Here is how you play:
Leave a comment with your guess for WEIGHT, LENGTH, TIME OF DAY, and name suggestions are very welcome- since we have yet to decide on a name for sure. :) Contest ends when baby gets here- in about 10 days :)
We'll post the winner shortly after we know the baby's stats- and I'll send you a little prize!
(oh I know you can't wait to guess...so get guessing!) hee hee

Blockin' It (as in crafting w/ wood:))

A few other little projects that have been sitting around here way too long waiting to be finished. Obviously, the craft/project/sewing stuff is all going to be taking a little break here very soon in a few weeks :) But for now I'm trying to finish it all up, and get everything organized and in order, since the focus will be baby, baby, baby and family, family, family...in a few weeks :)
HAPPY SUMMER!! ( in case you were wondering...about these blocks- wood was in the garage- a scrap we found somewhere which hubby cut and sanded for me; paint- well we have had that forever and it is just acrylic paint from the craft store; and lettering I have had for a few months- I ordered from a fabulous friend- so these really cost me next to nothing- just never got around to finishing them until now :))

la-dee-da-Craftractions...

We found out some more not- so -happy -news about the baby the other day. We have lots of doctor appts. and have to travel a ways to see a specialist next week. I'm sure it will all be o.k. in the end-but it is still scary for me. Right now we know the baby needs surgery but not sure when or where.... So in order to try and attempt to keep my mind off of the unknown-on the days when I actually have some energy- here is what I have been doing....."craftstractions" (craft + distractions) as I call it...
silly USA banner using only stuff from my stash
Quilt top w/ Ikea fabric + fabric from my stash...and then I got too tired to finish it

Organizing the tiny room we have for the boys- a car room- w/ our collection of old license plates we have found over the years

Making a few vinyl signs for the boys car room and baby's room- but this is the only one I had energy to finish-the rest will come later ;)

AND of course- enjoying the 2 cute little boys I have right here at home :) I love my kids!
