up and jogging....


A few weeks ago, we purchased a double jogger off of Craig's List- LOVE that thing! It is pretty old, but it was the one that I have been looking for- a Baby Trend Expedition- one of the lower end models for jogging strollers, but it does the job. We took it part and washed it, and it has new tires. It was only $60 which beats getting a new one for $300-600 which is-in our opinion- WAY TOO MUCH for a stroller!
Now... just to get a run/jog/walk in everyday- somedays I do the treadmill at the clubhouse where we live, and somedays we go out in the jogger- all depending on what kind of night we had with the kids and when they wake up in the morning. My husband usually gets up and runs first, and I take whatever time is left, afterwards, before he goes to work. Somedays, we just get out and go in the stroller altogether. I would much rather get my workout in without the kids, but this way, with this stroller, we can all go together too. Yesterday, we went mall walking- and that was really fun. They loved it, and with the WIND here, we will probably do more of that. Now... I got into the ST. GEORGE MARATHON and I'm not sure if I want to do a marathon again right now....it has been about 5 years since I ran that kind of distance...but that is the goal......so in the meantime, we are enjoying our frugal purchase, jogging/running/walking together, and loving getting outside.

  1. I had no idea that you ran a marathon. I am so impressed. My wonderful husband use to run 5k's, 10k's, 1/2 and full marathons (in his premarriage days!). He would like to do it again. Me...I'm not a runner. I do walk every morning, but running...not my favorite. Good luck with the St. George. When is it?

  2. It is October- I have done 7 marathons is my "pre-marriage" life and several other races- but I am not in shape right now and so if I have a GOAL it helps me to get in shape. I may to a 10K in a few weeks-walk most it though. Have to do something to help the "baby weight" and to deal with the sweet tooth I have....

  3. I bought a jogging stroller rom Craig's list a few months ago. I tried running with it once. I'm not coordinated enough for that. I told Joe tonight I want to start taking Hayden out every morning as soon as he wakes up. You should bug me about it to help me be motivated. I really am not looking forward to gaining a bunch of weight with this pregnancy since I still haven't got rid o f the baby weight from Scott or Hayden.

  4. Jessica- I still have baby weight too and I hate it. It is harder each time because you have less time for yourself. Maybe we can email each other and motivate one another that way.
