FREEBIE WEEK!!

With the economy the way it is, and everything costing WAY too much money- I am going to try something NEW over the next week or two. FREEBIE WEEK!! TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE- and join me! HERE is what you do:
1. Scout out your community for FREE activities that you can take your kiddies to during the week.
2. Try to do one thing each day, whether at home, or going somewhere that does not cost any money.
3. You can spend money on GAS and FOOD(no eating out) and BABY items like formula and diapers. If you have a membership somewhere that you already paid for, you can use that and count that as free.
4. BLOG or RECORD your FREEBIE WEEK and let everyone know.
Here are some FREEBIE THINGS I ALREADY FOUND to do this week where I live:
FREE ICE CREAM DAY at BEN and JERRY'S on APRIL 29th
STORYTIME at the LIBRARY
PRE-PAID COMMUNITY CLASS
PARKS! PARKS! PARKS!
JOGGING/WALKS with KIDDIES
FREE CONCERT and MUSICALS
PLAY AREA AT THE MALL w/ a clown on certain days
ARTS AND CRAFTS with kiddies- macaroni necklace, puppets, etc.
SO I am excited to see if anyone else wants to try this and see what you come up with to do where you live that is FREE!!! (sorry I don't think I'll be "stimulating the economy" right now)

Today we went to the Tyson Rec Center - an indoor playground (it was, of course, raining today). I count it as Free because, per your rules, we had a punchcard we'd purchased previously.

Other free stuff we like to do:
Zoo (membership)
Parks
Walks
Library story time
Play dates with friends
Going to the pet store to look at the animals
Going to Target to play with the cars on the car aisle (but not buying any!)
Music class (also previously paid for!)

The library here has a "cultural pass" - you check it out for free with your library card. It gets you into several venues for free: The Children's Museum, The Museum of Art, The Japanese and Chinese Gardens, and the Rock and Mineral Museum, and Pittock Mansion. We've only used the Children's Museum pass; but I think the art museum would be fun with Talmage and maybe the rock museum.

Does your library have such a delicious pass?
Good idear. Maybe you could email me a synthesized summary of all the ideas you get from other people. There are some boring afternoons around here!
Love,
Robin
