Give-a-way/Review: Hilary Weeks New Book &CD: Bedtime and Naptime...

***This give-a-way is now closed. ***
A while ago, Deseret Book, asked me to review Hilary Week's new book and CD that is available today.
{yipee!} I was so excited about this-for several reasons.
First of all, I was Hilary Week's daughter's school choir director several years ago.  Hilary complimented me many times at the school choir concerts. If you know how amazing and talented, Hilary is, then you can imagine how incredible this made me feel! She is a very sincere and genuine person.

I have always been a big fan of everything she does! And this book and CD is no exception. It is wonderful. I love love love this book and CD!
It highlights the joys and challenges of motherhood, in every sense. I laughed. I cried. I could relate so well to everything she said. This book made me realize the great work I am doing in my home- even though sometimes it feels like I am surrounded by piles of dirty laundry and dirty dishes and constantly changing  poopy diapers. (excuse me - my son is calling me, "mom, someone did a poopy!!" )

I feel so overwhelmed sometimes, and this book helped me to cope with that feeling by reminding me of the small and simple joys of motherhood. Hilary is humorous, caring, down to earth, and very easy to identify with. She reminds us what really matters. She is witty, clever, and delightful.

The book is full of thoughts, quotes, recipes, humor, and colorful photos.
She says things like, (and I am paraphrasing) "sometimes don't you just want to do something crazy like run through a wall and go to Target for 2 hours?"
She shares with us some of her favorite things, like bedtime and naptime, and naptime and bedtime. (hey - those are my favorite things too!!)

Her CD includes many fan favorites- including "To-Do List", "I Believe I Can Fly", and "Climb Every Mountain." It also includes a song that really helped me reflect on what is important, as a mother, and even made me cry- after laughing through all the other songs.
You can view Hilary performing a few of her songs here:

You can also read a great interview/review on this book.here.
I really feel like this is the perfect gift for every mother. I think it is my favorite thing at the moment. I love it!!

So would you like to win a copy of this book and CD?

Leave a comment telling me why you need this, and perhaps sharing with me one of your joys or challenges as a mother.
**This give-a-way is open to all readers with a U.S. mailing address, but I would really like it if you were a follower of my little gems☻-but you can still enter anyway!**
**Give-a-way is open until April 12th at midnight, P.S.T. I must be able to contact you if you win- so please make sure I can reach you- via blog comment, email, etc. **

Good Luck!! This is something I know you will love! (plus Mother's Day is coming up- this is a perfect gift!)

Those are two wonderfully funny songs---thanks for including them in your post!
As a mom of three little ones, I get so easily overwhelmed with all there is to do......a book like this would be a nice encouragement!
Thanks for a fun give away!

Oh how I would love this book and cd. I have two children, 4.5 and 1 years old and a husband who travels a lot for business. When it is a rough day, I just start singing "Bedtime and Naptime and Bedtime and Naptime..." Apparently I have sung it enough that my 4.5 year old daughter has caught on...sometimes she starts singing it with me! ha ha ha! Too cute! Would love the book, and yes, I am a follower!

I'm so glad she finally made a cd - although watching the you tube video's are great. We had fun seeing her at Time out for Women. I need this because my twins are no longer napping and the stubborn one won't use the toilet all the time and I will let you imagine the rest...

I would love to have this. My mom and I met her at TOFW 1 week before my dad died and she had the kindest things to say and gave each of us a giant hug.

Why I need this, I'm a mom of little ones! One of my joys that is also a challenge at times: taking a step back, remembering what is most important and just enjoying this wonderful time of life.

I just love Hilary Weeks too. How fun to have been her daughters choir director. I think you just telling us that you were a choir director tells us a little more about you :) I would love this book to find a little more happy mother inspiration and encouragement.

I would love this! As a new mom I often struggle with feeling like I get anything done each day but I love the perspective that she puts on being a mom and what a great work it really is.

I am a mother of four wonderful and crazy children. While they are not little ones any more they still keep me busy and somedays make me wish they still took naps. I love all of Hilary Weeks' music and listening to it always seems to calm me, which is especially helpful when life is crazy. Thanks so much for offering the chance to win this wonderful set!

I need this because I have a newborn at home (#3) who was 6 weeks early and spent 2 weeks in the NICU, so my house was not prepped at all before her arrival (needed cleaning before she was born and it hasn't been done yet- 5 1/2 weeks later). I need a reminder it's okay, and I need some extra laughs about motherhood! :)

Ooo, I need some inspiration! I'd love to win this, but if not, I'm on the list to get it from our public library :)

My joys of motherhood are watching my little ones interact sweetly with each other (although it doesn't always happen that way!). It makes my heart sing.

I have been wanting her to come out with a cd of these songs since I went to Time Out for women two years ago. I have three boys and a girl and it never seems like my house stays clean for long and I always look forward to my kids naptime to be able to do some thing for me.

Oh Sharla how I wish I got to know you better before you moved. So you said you wanted to know why I wanted/needed this book well here you go. Hope I don't offend anyone.
But really somedays I hate being a mom, I just want to curl up in a ball and hide from everyone and everything. I feel totally guilty for feeling this way too. It's kind of a crazy circle you know. There is always a mess somewhere wither it be toys, pee, poop, or whatever. It's hard because I know this is where I am suppose to be but I want to work. I want to be in a hospital helping lots of people feel better, not just 2.
That's the short version.

I hope I am not too late. I got up early this morning to work ans was checking out your blog. These songs made me laugh. When did she come to my house and see how my life is? I have a feeling this would be great for those times when you just need to feel like you are not alone in the joys of motherhood. Sharla you are amazing. How do you do it all. Have a great day

Hi Sharla,
I haven't hard anything off this CD yet...If I don't win then I guess I'll have to buy it :) Joys of motherhood...there are truly so many, but my favorite will always be getting to hold a sleeping baby or child. Even though my little one is close to 5 now, she will still let me hold her till she falls asleep sometimes and it's the most precious thing to me! Love your blog by the way!!!!! LOVE IT!
